What Money Can’t Buy

“It is good to have money and the things
that money can buy, but it’s good too, to
check up once in a while and make sure
you haven’t lost the things money can’t buy.”

– George Lorimer

As Christmas Day draws closer and many people start to slow down (unless of course ur in retail!) we get a chance to reflect on the year gone and contemplate changes we’d like to make in the year ahead.
As you know, the topic of conversation for most people in the second half of 2008 has been the global financial sitiation. For some businesses there has been major pain, others major change and others again major success. But whatever situation you find yourself in,I think this quote reminds us that most of the things we really value in our lives has nothing to do with money.
Business is like an adventure – some days are good, some days not. But many people tend to equate their success in business with their level of happiness or self-worth.
As someone said to me recently, ‘Your self worth should not be tied up with your Net worth!’ Wise words.
My wish for us all this Christmas is that we give attention to the things we mostly take for granted. Very often it’s only when things are taken away from us that we realise how much they meant to us. (and that very often relates mostly to the people in our lives).
Right now a lot of the things that are special in your life cost no money. The question is, do you know what they are?
Best Wishes and may you have a happy and peaceful Christmas,
